A selective venture studio

Your audience already told you what to build.

BuildTogether partners with creators and experts to validate, build, launch, and run new subscription apps. You bring the audience and the expertise. We bring the product, the engineering, and the operations. We split the revenue.

We build one app per quarter.

You have

  • An audience that trusts you
  • A problem they ask you about constantly
  • Proof they'll pay you
  • No way to turn it into software

We have

  • Product and design
  • Engineering
  • Subscriptions and billing
  • Analytics, support, and operations
  • No audience

Neither half is a business. Together they are.

How it works

Seven steps. Two of them decide everything.

01

Apply

A short written application. We read every one.

02

We study your audience and your business

What they buy, what they ask you for, what they already pay to solve.

03

We design a concept and a real mockup

Not a slide deck. Screens your audience can judge.

04

Your audience votes with signups and deposits

Real intent, measured in money and email addresses — not survey answers.

05

Only validated ideas get built

An agency gets paid whether or not the idea works. We don't build until your audience pays to prove it. If the test fails, we say so and we stop.

06

We build, launch, and operate it

Engineering, store submission, billing, support, maintenance. Ongoing, not a handoff.

07

You promote. We split revenue, transparently.

Monthly statements, itemised. Audit rights in writing.

Division of labour

Who does what

We do

  • Product strategy
  • Design
  • Engineering
  • Billing and subscriptions
  • Analytics
  • Store submission and compliance
  • Customer support
  • Maintenance
  • Monthly revenue statements
  • Payouts

You do

  • Define the problem
  • Supply the expertise and content
  • Promote at launch
  • Promote again at week four
  • Keep promoting quarterly

Your promotional commitments are specific, written, and dated. Not “reasonable efforts.”

Standards

Most applications are declined.

We build one app per quarter, and we fund each one ourselves. So the filter is published, not implied.

We're a good fit if

  • You sell something to this audience already, at $100 or more.
  • You own direct distribution — an email list, a paid community, or a podcast.
  • Your audience has a recurring problem that costs them money or blocks a goal.
  • You have a repeatable method you already teach.
  • You'll commit in writing to promoting, before you see any revenue.

We're a poor fit if

  • You want us to build something you've already decided on, without validating it.
  • You want cash upfront.
  • You want an app that makes medical, financial, or legal claims.
  • You can't commit to promotion after launch.

Terms

Here are the terms. Before you apply.

Cost to you
No upfront cost. We fund everything — design, engineering, launch, and operations.
Your assets
You keep your name, your brand, your content, and your list.
Revenue share
Starts at 25–30% of net revenue and increases as you hit promotion and growth milestones. It can also decrease if promotion stops.
Ownership
You get no ownership in BuildTogether. We get no ownership in your business.
Reporting and payment
Monthly statements by the 10th. Payment by the 15th.
Verification
Independent audit rights, once a year, at your discretion — at your cost, or at ours if the audit finds we were off by more than 3%.

Definition

Net revenue means gross receipts minus app store commissions, payment processing, refunds, chargebacks, and taxes. It does not mean minus our salaries or our overhead.

What transparency looks like

You get this every month, itemised.

Every line that reduces your share is named and shown. Nothing is deducted that isn't on this statement.

Standalone offer

Not ready to partner? Start with the validation.

Ten days. We design the concept, build the mockup and the landing page, and run the test with your audience. You get the assets, the data, and a written verdict — including, often, “don't build this.”

Questions

Answered plainly, including the unflattering parts.

What does it cost me?
Nothing in cash. We fund design, engineering, launch, and operations. Your cost is time and promotional attention — the application, the input during design, and the promotion you commit to in writing. If you'd rather pay for validation alone and keep everything, the ten-day sprint is $1,500–$3,000.
Who owns the app?
BuildTogether owns and operates the app and its code. You own your name, brand, content, and audience, and you license the brand use for the app. Neither of us takes equity in the other. Revenue is shared per the terms above.
What if it fails?
We absorb the build cost. You lose the promotional time you put in — real time, spent on your list, that you can't spend twice. That asymmetry is exactly why we validate with deposits first and decline most applications. If the app underperforms after launch, we tell you, we try a fixed number of changes, and if it still doesn't work we wind it down and say so in writing.
I already have an idea — can you just build it?
No. Your idea is the starting hypothesis, not the brief. We'll test it with your audience, and we reserve the right to reshape it or recommend against it. If you want a predetermined spec built to order, hire an agency — that is a legitimate purchase, just not this one.
Can it use my name and brand?
Usually yes, and usually it should. You grant a limited licence for the app only, revocable if we breach the agreement. We don't use your name for anything else, and we don't publish you as a partner without written approval.
What exactly do I have to promise to do?
Named placements on named dates: the validation test to your list, a launch sequence, a second push at week four, and a recurring quarterly mention. The exact counts and channels are written into the agreement before we build, sized to what you actually have. Not “reasonable efforts.”
How is revenue calculated, and can I verify it?
Your share is a percentage of net revenue: gross receipts minus app store commissions, payment processing, refunds, chargebacks, and taxes. Not minus our salaries or overhead. You get an itemised statement by the 10th of each month with subscriber counts, churn, and refunds, payment by the 15th, and the right to an independent audit once a year — at your cost, or at ours if we're off by more than 3%.
What happens if we part ways?
Either side can exit with notice. You take back your brand licence and your list, which was always yours. We keep operating or wind down the app, and we continue paying your share on revenue from subscribers you brought in, at a defined rate for a defined tail period. All of it is written down before we start.
Why not just hire an agency?
An agency invoices you whether or not anyone subscribes, and hands you a codebase to maintain. We take no money from you, we don't build until your audience pays to prove demand, and we run the thing afterwards. In exchange we take a share of revenue and we say no far more often. If your specification is fixed and your budget is available, an agency is faster.
How long does it all take?
About two weeks from application to a decision on the concept, then ten days for validation. If the test passes, we build to launch in four to six weeks — we scope deliberately small, because a first release that takes four months is a bet neither of us should be making. Operations are indefinite. We start one app per quarter, so there may be a wait before your slot.

Apply

One app per quarter. Tell us why it should be yours.

We read every application. We reply either way, usually within a week.

Application received

Thank you. We read every application in full and reply either way, usually within a week.

If we want to go further, the next step is a 30-minute call about your audience and what they already buy from you.
